Hello! My name is Jon-Michael, I graduated from Lumberton HS in Lumberton, Texas back in 2019. Go Raiders!! ❤️💙❤️💙
I played the Alto Sax from 6th to 12th grade. I was a member of the Lumberton HS Mighty Raider Band from 2015 to 2019.
I have been a member of the TXBands Community since October of 2017 and I am the Predictions Administrator and have been since 2022.
I am the newest member of the Admin Staff team here on TXBands!
I am an Alumni of the Melissa HS Band! I returned to the world of Marching Band in late 2020, and have been around ever since! I had the honor of marching at State in 2018 and was the 2018 Top All-Region 4A tuba player for Region 25 :).
I joined the Admin Team for the Predictions Game in 2026!
I plan on bringing back the D & J: the bands array podcast in the future!
All About Predictions
How it works
Each event we enter will show up on the main page. You can only create one set of predictions for each event, and once you create and finalize your list, you will not be able to change it. You can start adding your predictions as soon as the event appears until 2 AM CT on the day of the event. Members with the Supporter tag get extra time, until 9 AM CT on the day of the event. Other members' lists stay hidden until you submit your own, or until picks close for everyone.
Scoring for 2026 Marching
Bold pick bonus Off Event-size normalization Off Popularity weighting On
Your points for an event = your pick points × popularity weight. Your season total is the sum across every event you predicted. Tap “How it scored” on any list after results are in to see the full math.
Pick points
Every place you predict earns points based on how close you were, and every correct caption winner earns 1 point. For example, if you put the eventual winner in your 3rd slot, you still get 0.50. Ties count as exact anywhere in the tied span — two groups tied for 2nd both count as exact at 2nd or 3rd.

Event popularity weighting
Popular contests are worth more. Each event's weight is its number of prediction lists divided by the lists on the least popular contest that has finished this season (currently BOA Las Cruces, with 19 lists). That contest counts at 1.00× and every other contest counts for more — right now the most popular, UIL 5A State Marching Band Championship (527 lists), counts at 27.74×. No event ever reduces your score.
Weights update hourly while lists come in. If a contest finishes with fewer lists than the current least popular one, it becomes the new baseline and every event's weight rises by the same factor — everyone's points go up together and the standings don't change. You'll find each event's weight in “View Lists and Results”.

Season breakdown
Points are weighted by event popularity. “avg” is unweighted points per contest. Tap a player to see how their points add up.
Based on how popular this event is compared to every other contest this season, all scores here are multiplied by × (). Weights update hourly all season, so this can still change after the contest. See “How it works” for details.
